Sadly, many businesses don’t check their staff. Reduce your risk exposure by asking these simple questions BEFORE hiring a contractor to start work at your residence.

Don’t Invite Strangers Into Your Home

1. Do you complete criminal background checks on your employees?

2. Have your staff members been drug tested?

3. If you say your staff are tested, where is evidence?(If a company say to you they will mail a copy be vigilant. Do they really have proof? Or are they just saying what you want to hear?)

4. Do you take any additional precautionary procedures when hiring staff?

5. Will your employees come to my residence in a marked vehicle and dressed appropriately so I know who they work for?

If they be unwilling on answering these questions, think again about hiring them. A legitimate Garage Door will answer these. This way you can rest assured the people coming to your house are legit.

You may feel uncomfortable about having to ask these questions. In particular you may run up against someone who is rude and makes you feel like you shouldn’t be asking. But this is not about making friends. This is about your safety, the safety of your loved ones, and of your home. Any legitimate contract should understand this

So before you decide to do business, put together a list of companies you are considering, call them and ask these questions, and who ever does not answer satisfactorily just get rid of right away.
